Hello to all.
I was wondering if development could be managed separated from design?or always have to be tied?
what is strictly design and what is development?
I ve heard somewhere that design Is the concept (calculations, analysis ) and development is to produce drawings, specifications for fabrication, regarding to an engineering company.
Could someone explain D&D?

Thanks

Many big corporate have the innovation centers, which are independent of the design and development. They provide inputs to the design and development.
Are you referring to this .....

No, my question, if in ISO, design and development can be managed separated, is it allowed?.
And which can be examples of that. Cases of design alone and development also alone.
Thanks

qualprod,

We tend to think of design as conceptual solutions and development as drawings and specifications as you say.

And construction contractors often produce shop drawings from the architect's output.

So, yes, development may happen separately from design.

But don’t forget that organizations deliver services with or without products. So we all should be designing and developing our services.
