Including services in quality policy?

Hi everybody

Please give some advise on the next:

In a company which only resells goods (spare parts for pumps, tools for mechanic,etc.) , receive product from supplier, move them to warehouse and deliver to client´s offices. doesn´t manufacture anything.

In my opinion is a product provider, or the delivery and some little remote support could be considered service?

Now, in the quality policy:

what do you think in this partial statement?

Company XXXX provides a wide variety of products .......

Question is:

Should I add .. variety of products and services in case of
delivery and support apply as services?

I´m somewhat confused.

All organizations provide a service with or without products.

We should all be saying services or services and products.

The reason we don’t is many customers buying products fail to specify the service they require. Instead they specify mainly the products.

This tends to reduce the products to commodities bought mainly on price alone.

Now we see manufacturing companies are becoming far more service-oriented and many universities are offering courses in service design.

Rolls Royce is a leading example.

As quality professionals we should be leading the way on this.

Maybe the rewording of it is due but we con not provide feedback if we can't read it.
