Recommended Andons? Building 3 light-4 light andons, with or without sound

I am wondering if anyone has a source or some ideas as building 3 light-4 light andons, with or without sound.
I have found stack lights, but they were a bit pricey, and permanent hardwired, I am looking for something that is "mobile" (Perhaps even magnetic), to snap on to equipment.via regular 120V plug, and manually trigger. Size only needs to be 2-3' x 1-2'
Our main machines have simple colour code andon cards that we made, which for now are fine for most of our operation, but am looking for a more noticeable indicator for some of our other operations... and perhaps replacing the cards in the future.
This may be another project were we build it ourselves, which I am open to, so if you have ideas, please share.

You may have to bump this next monday as it's the start of the weekend and, of course, next week will be slow (as will things in general for the next 2 weeks as the holidays come and go).

Still looking for ideas.

The idea of using coloured flags came up as a stepping stone alternative to a signal. May actually work for us!

Some of the Japanese plants use annunciators show you know what the specific problem is - not just where. They also use irritating (so it actually gets attention) but unique sounds for each location.

The best Andon I ever saw was at a Toyota plant. When the andon was pulled, it also started playing the song "Hey Jude" by The Beatles....

"Hey jude, dont make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better......."

Nothing like a little music to help solve problems.

Wayne,

Sorry, I could not resist.... "Hey Jude" continues after the introduction by David Frost. A true classic...

True....but I didn't want to be an over-achiever and type out the whole song. Not a bad song, but not of their best ones either. :)
