Now to just find a place that I feel I can actually do some good, a place that wants to take things seriously.
I have found the worst periods in my life were those in which I did not feel like I was in the right place.

It sounds like your site's management is helpless. That is not a promising thing as the 2015 standard asks for their engagement and accountability. Big VA QA Guy talks to the boss almost every night, but you are the one who is there. You can work to prepare people to understand and be comfortable in walking through risks and operational controls, their responsibilities etc. for certification and the company's health, and issue NCRs for things like overdue document approvals (Kronos147 made very good points) and other things not done as required. You can do your best while there, for it sounds like you have good reason to want to maintain stable employment.

If you want the company to succeed, do your coach/facilitator thing as Big VA QA Guy cannot do (not being present) and prepare for certification as best you can. Your management needs help. Give it to them.

I have found that hindsight is crystal clear but the really hard part is patience. My professional career looks like a Wizard of Oz story in a way. My resume makes it look like I can't hold a job. But now, it makes sense.

Chin up: Do your best, do the important things, look out for yourself and your family, stay positive (it seems everyone likes a winner). Things have a way of working out as they are meant to.

Re: Corporate Quality Manager keeping me out of the Mgment Review Meeting

Sorry for bringing this back to the top, I felt bad for dropping off the face of Elsmar...

Thank you, Jen, for all of your support and input.

Update!

I was let go from the company in a hot head firing by the new Operations Manager, they tried to tell the workforce that I abandoned my job. There was really no reason to fire me as I did what was asked they didn’t follow procedures and I only had 1 write up on file, the manager just didn't like me from day one. By that point, I was so irritated with their lack of leadership I had planted my foot in using NCR's and the standard as my weapon to combat their lack of leadership. When a document that hadn't been fixed in 6 months due to the VA QA guy not approving my updates, but was required to be used to ship the order. Guess who blames me for using the “wrong” form because someone didn’t approve it. He flat out lied in a meeting, stating that he did not give me specific directions to wait on the new operations manager and I called him out on it and asked if he was really going to leave it like that. Of course, he played stupid so the new Operations Manager or w/e she was told her manager lackey to walk me out. So he shows up to my desk and tells me to pack my stuff I am like for what he said he wasn’t told why, but get me off campus. There is still no clear reason for firing me as Texas workforce even stated there is no evidence of abandonment of my job. I was walked off site by a manager who watched me get into my car and leave the gated building. Since they had 4 managers stating the same lie I was not able to collect unemployment. I started to work on an appeal while I was out of work but after a month of no work, I got contacted about a job.
Now I was thinking of leaving the quality field due to the above events when a company reached out to me through a contract to help transition their QMS to 2015 standard. It seems to be going well, very nice people and they seem to be interested in hiring me. No formal offer yet and my project is going to end roughly in 3 weeks.

Glad to no longer be at the cluster F*** of a company this thread was birthed from...

Keep us updated. Sometimes this all works out for the best. Quality is a tough field and finding a good fit is a rare thing indeed. It takes a special and unique mix of skills to pull it off, and lots of Exedrin and Tums.

The problem is the Corporate Quality. When I see this title it usually means issues from my past experience.
