Process Performance Parameters for efficiency and effectiveness

Can any members assist me with the following
1) Process performance parameters for a storage facility (incoming goods)
- The problem is raw materials are imported in most cases so inventory is high and raw materials are ordered on a forecast to reduce delivery times.

2) Process performance parameters for final testing lab (validation)
- The problem is muliple products to test using different international and national standards and various tests per product as per specification and/or CSR

2) Process performance parameters for dyeing process
- Machine speeds constant for product type
- Multiple products with different processing times through same process
- Different quantities of raw chemicals and water for various products.

Has anyone got better ideas on how to measure the processes so that ISO/TS16949 requirements can be met and will also add value to the processes. Often if it is too complex, the method is not excepted by the process owners.

In general you need to decide what are your problems and where you want to go. Make your objectives based on where you want to improve and/or have had problems and work accordingly.
You know what you want to improve- don't just measure cause they say you must- this is the recipe for failure

What is the process? Storage?
In that case the inventory size is irrelevant. The process is to store, identify and supply material according to the requirements.
Damage, identification, time to supply are all actions that should have targets and then can be monitored

.
Here the lab is a support process and should be measured as to what it's internal customers require, time for result, accuracy compared to external sources, Gauge R&R

As stated above decide what is important for you.
