Qualification of weights used for curing epoxy

Hello,
Apologize if this has been discussed before, but I search around and couldn't find an answer.

I'm using weights, 10oz steel blocks, to help spread the epoxy while it's being cured. This is my qualification strategy, I'm hoping to get some feedback.

1. IQ on weights will involve measuring the dimensions and weight, to ensure it meets the specifications on the tool drawing.
2. PQ on the process. The parts that have epoxy are visually inspected after the curing step and functionally tested downstream.

Is there anything that I might be missing?

Can you give a little more detail?

If someone used a one pound weight instead, or a 2oz. squeegee, or nothing...would it make a difference?

Yes, using an out of spec weight would make a difference. A heavier weight would cause the epoxy to spread out too thin, and a lighter weight would not spread the epoxy enough.
