Re: What is a Quality Supervisor

The Quality Supervisor has enough technical skills to supervise technicians and inspectors, perhaps acting as a liaison between them and engineering and QA management.

QC Man,

I fear that you will get many a varied answer to this question as each company and position description will be reliant on the output of the company and position. Some broader questions we need addressed to help you are:

Is the position Quality Assurance or Quality Control or Both?
Is it a position dedicated to Auditing and Document control?
Does it involve training others and spreading Quality Awarness?
What is the reporting chain? Authorities?

IMO, if you can provide the dot point specifics of the job then you have written your own Position Description

Your analogy is correct and the answer to your questions is yes/no depending on the day :) Just wondering how many quality supervisors out there are dealing with customer engineers on a regular bases? I figure whatever works but found my title only describes half of what I do.
