ISO 10079-1 Medical suction equipment – Part 1: Electrically powered suction equipment – Safety requirements. The opening section of this standard indicates:
“….this part of ISO 10079 addresses only mains electricity- and battery-powered suction equipment.”
Note: Part 2 covers manual suction and Part 3 covers equipment powered by a vacuum or pressure source.
Probably a pointless question but here goes, what standard (if any) do I use to approve/test suction equipment (with no internal battery etc) which is powered by a 12 Volt source i.e. from an adaptor (as per a laptop)?
Any thoughts?
