How to overcome brown stains after ETO sterilization process ?

I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to deal with stains from ETO sterilization. My company uses ETO sterilization but we have white packaging and every lot returned from the sterilizer has brown ETO stains.

The stains probably come from the product rubbing the chamber's carbon steel walls during loading and/or unloading. Sounds like power washing the chamber's interior surfaces is in order.

Hi,

Is it on every single unit? If not, have you identified any distribution pattern?

Are the stains very local / spotty, or more widespread / hazy?

Have you made sure that all materials used in your product (including packaging) are EtO compatible (chemically, temperature, moisture)?

Do you have access to rerecords indicating that the sterilization process is not deviating in any way?

Cheers,
Ronen.
