ISO/IEC 25

We are a second tier company, and we have a In-house calibration laboratory. We deal with some commercial calibration laboratories to calibrate some of our gages.

The QS-9000 third edition in the 4.11.2.b.1

Calibration facilities shall be accredited to ISO/IEC Guide 25 or national equivalent or have evidence, e.g. assessment by an OEM customer or an OEM customer-approved second party, that they meet the intent of ISO/IEC Guide 25 or national equivalent.

My question is. What is considered a national equivalent to ISO/IEC Guide 25 in USA? Could be enough for a Commercial independent calibration company to be ISO 9000 registered to comply with this requirement in the QS9000 Third edition

What I believe they are saying is - if you live in Brazil, you use the Brazilian equivalent of the standard. Just as (technically) ISO9001 in the US is the ANSI 'version' (as I rmember).

What country do you live in?

CARLOS,
ISO 9000 IS NOT CONSIDERED ADEQUATE. WE JUST WENT THROUGH PRE-ASSESMENT AND MUST SHOW THAT OUR CAL LAB MEETS THE INTENT OF GUIDE 25
