Re: who can provide me a short audit check list for stamping process

A few ones, I found after a google serch in one questionare.

1) Do you have documentation verifying Tonnage Monitoring calibration by an A2LA lab?
Tonnage monitors are considered gages and must be treated as such in accordance to AIAG/QS requirements. Tonnage monitors should be used for predictive process control as well as press and die protection.

2) Do you have dynamic/Static buy off procedures for procurement of new tools and implementation of engineering changes?

Supplier has thoroughly documented procedures to ensure all critical items (die space, datum's, lifter operations etc.) are reviewed and addressed. This procedure should cover all aspects of die construction and production readiness.

3) Do you have FLD/Circle Grid Analysis or Ultra-Sonic capabilities?
Supplier should demonstrate predictive interpretation methods for metal forming such as FLD or Circle Grid Analysis. These or similar methods are necessary to ensure product conformance as well as establishing boundary standards for new or re-sourced product.

4) Are Nitrogen systems (self-contained and manifold) part of your predictive maintenance plan?
All nitrogen systems must be part of a predictive maintenance program (based on hits, not time) to ensure that no non-conforming product can be produced as a result of low or excessive tonnage.

5) Is your current draw lube of the approved source list?
All suppliers to _____ must utilize draw lubricants that is promulgated on the ___list to ensure compatibility with all subsequent ___ systems.

6) Do operator instructions and/or Press Set-up instructions match production parameters? Press set-up and/or operator instructions should include shut height parameters, nitrogen system pressure, counter balance pressure, feed rate and total/per corner tonnage at a minimum. This will ensure consistent set-up from shift to shift as well as help in the troubleshooting process.

Hope this helps.

good call on the tonnage monitors...we have never captured that in our calibration system. Thanks for the idea! :)

You might consider the specific press a die is run in. Let's say you have multiple presses where some are the same tonnage and some are more, and/or some are less. I've found that a die will perform differently, not to mention different setups, when used in different presses.

I've seen scheduling put a die in different presses for different runs. The documentation is different for every press - And, some dies will simply not run in some presses.

I guess in short I'm saying a die must be qualified in every different press it is run in.
