Capacity Analysis or Calculations - Excel Spreadsheet needed

Can anybody provide Capacity Analysis in excel sheet which can be used in calculating supplier's manufacturing capacity - process wise & which will help in deciding lead, lag strategy for adding capacity.

Are you looking for like some type of weighted calculation for determining the optimal supplier?

When you say lead and lag, is that in reference to the supplier's ability to meet delivery deadlines?

I know this is a dumb question, but have you had a chance to review the list of attachments, to see if there is something you could use?

Obviously in light of my silly questions, I don't have a spreadsheet for your need. But I am interested in your need, so maybe you could develop your own, if you could not find what you need here.

…and besides, capacity analysis must be expressed in the same “unit” to become significant… just imagine if you have 10 suppliers supplying different materials, how you would come out with a comparative analysis then for you to decide lead and lag strategy for adding (supplier) capacity?

…moreover, I guess, it is not really a major concern of the organization to increase its supplier’s capacity… it should be the supplier itself to determine the possibility of increasing their capacity (it is for their own good)… for the organization, finding additional supplier would be enough if the present supplier capacity cannot accommodate the demand…



…or perhaps you are referring only to manufacturing (or production) capacity?...

I agree that supplier itself should know whats the current capacity is & how , when addition will be required.But, I am working as supplier development engineer so I assumes its my job to first know supplier's capacity planning & availbility.
