My company is manufacturing a trailer for some aircraft engine maintenance operations.
The engine is supported by some Arms, but for specific operation the trailer has to be lifted 70cms from the floor in order to give room enough to the staff for the operations.
This lifting operation is carried out by 4 landing gear jacks, commonly used on the semi-trailers and tandem trailers.
The Jacks are not CE Marked
In order to comply with the CE requirements and the whole machine (trailer) be CE marked, should the Jacks and all the elevation accesories be as well CE Marked?
on the CE Directive (2006/42) is stated that all the elevation systems should be manufactured against the WLL witht a ReserveFactor>=4
As we don't know which is the Manufacturer's limit (not CE mark) we did the jacks selection based on supporting 4 times the WLL per jack.
Could be used this statement in order to certify the whole assembly? (trailer with jacks)
Many thanks in advance
