Integrated Manual for ISO 9001:2008 and API Q1, Eighth Edition.

Dear All concerned,

I would like to know how to integrate the requirement of API Spec Q1, Eighth edition ( TS 29001:2007) with the ISO 9001:2008. I would like to know how to fulfill the supplemental clauses of API Q1 and it would be better if some one could provide a sample manual copy/procedure for reference .

Do you need to integrate the two? API Q1 is ISO 9001 + additional requirements. In other words, they are already integrated (have a look at a copy of the ISO 29001 standard). Check with the API or your potential CB.

There are a couple of things that are unique to API Q1 (more than just two, but two I want to emphasize).

The only registrar for API Q1 is API.

API Q1 requires that the quality manual address every shall unlike ISO 9001:2008 where the quality manual only needs three things (scope, procedures or reference them, and a description of the interaction of the processes).

As a result, the quality manual is much more involved than an ISO 9001:2008 manual needs to be.

Thanks for the valuable comments. I have got the sample manual. The real issues are how to address the supplemental clauses in the manual. Are we supposed to reproduce the same as given in the sample manual. It would be better if you could explain taking a particular supplemental clause as an example and just let me know how to draft them.
