Has anyone ever heard of Informance software? Monitors machine uptime/downtime (OEE)

Has anyone ever heard of "Informance" software? If so what do you think?

We are currently triing it.

For those who haven't, here is a quick explaination.

It is connected to 3 of our CNC machines. It monitors machine uptime/downtime (OEE) according to spindle time. After X amount of time the spindle isn't spinning it requires the operator to put in the the downtime reason.

****THIS IS NOT A SALES PITCH***** I am just wondering what you think.

This is an example of one of the dashboards. It shows data over the last three days.

First time adding attachment. Hope it works.

Just wondering how that software has worked out for you? Can you recommend it?

bobdoering - sorry so late, I forgot to respond. The Quality Summary Tab is not used here. It looks like it would work on a high volume production line. The attachment shows just one of charts could be by what I selected in the drop down menus.

rlsavard - My coworker and I have been on the floor compliling a list of about 50+ items with causes, effects, time wasted, action items (which most come directly from the operators). The good thing is that the complaints that they have had for years are now documented are being fixed The bad thing is it is a slow process )alot of programming changes). Attached is an example of the a report that the Managers do not like to look at, but they do.

With these fixes unfortunatly it is overloading our programmers and engineers right now, but some of the issues identified also affect other parts. So in the long run it will be less they have to fix later and can focus on newer work.

We have used now for a month and the OEE on the three machines have gone up about 8% - 10%. (The Hawthorne Effect). Now that the problems are being fixed we hope to see it rise another 10% -20% in the next month or two.

I hope that explains it a little.

Good observation!

We have touch screen controls on our machines and some good electricians. They were able to set up parameters similar to what you are showing. We can track downtime and the cause (as long as the operator is being honest).

It's not a bad set up for a small company that can't afford to buy anything but wants to find areas that need to be addressed.

It is a good statistical tool for downtime analysis.Reason for the non-utilization is not available in the graphics. But the data shown in the charts are useful for predictive maintenance,ie wear and tear of critical spares.

I have worked with Thrive and used their machine downtime tracking software to export the data via API and access the downtime reasons. Hope it will help.:agree1:
