Does anyone in this cove knew about the standard of mechanical properties for S45C? (JIS / ASTM / ANSI / ISO)
Thanks

Hi,

Here is one reference for chemical composition:
http://www.kokura.sumitomometals.co.jp/e/product/general/01_18.html

It shows "Carbon Steels for Machine Structural Use JIS G 4051 (2005)"

You could purchase the JIS G 4051 standard.

http://www.tokyokeiso.co.jp/english/technology-e/tech_general/g-0002/index.htm
and
http://www.diekson-valve.com/3.htm

Show ASTM A194, Grade 2H as an equivalent.

Lists some properties, but you need to know the heat treated condition, and properties may not be entirely equivalent.

http://longsteel.iscor.com/catalogue/datacards 2006/Mittal NC F1.1 Round Bar.doc

It appears to be equivalent to SAE 1040.

I have read JIS G4051 but we didn't found the standard of mechanical properties (tensile strength, yield point & elongation).
Does anyone know about the mechanical properties.

As known we supplied some machining part to Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia. Our customer need the mechanical properties for the material which we used. Until now they don't sent the standard so we try to find other standard for our knowledge.

Thank's

I have the same scenario whereby I need the documented "Mechanical Properties".
It is kinda funny that JIS only spell out the chemical composition and not detailing the mechanical property

Can anyone help?

:thanx:
