Arizona State University BB Certification course: Seeking opinion on value for cost

Course has two parts: academic and practical. Acceptable score on both required for certification.
The academic portion looks intense, but this is the forte of Prof. Montgomery, et. al. of the IE dept. But is it a good course? is it good learning? or just a gauntlet?
The practical portion is a workplace-oriented BB project, which goes as the project essence goes. Am aware of this: but is the project mentoring that ASU staff provide, is it exceptional in any way? Really well done?

I am about to plop my money down for the course as it looks like the tightest, most cogent course I'v reviewed.
Particularly curious if anyone has found it a bad value, pedantic, or vice-versa, really a fine course.

If I might ask, what is the cost?

I have not taken the course but it looks like Dr. Douglas C. Montgomery is teaching parts of the class. Honestly I don't know if you can get a more qualified instructor anywhere.

Looks good for ~$3000 and Montgomery is very good. They seem to be covering all of the tools and philosophical approaches.

Unfortunately, the recruiting world recognizes a BB & MBB from GE, Motorola, or AlliedSignal as 'trumping' University or ASQ certifications.

Best of luck in your endeavors.

Value for cost? The value comes from actually doing something with the education other than decorate a wall with a piece of paper. I know people with degrees and advanced degrees that can't work the counter in McDonalds or be a WalMart Greeter, and I know of other folks that don't even have a GED that have had great business or work success.

You're asking a question with too many variables for a definitive answer.

Based on Montgomery and relatively low cost if it covers the usual body of knowledge for BB I would have no qualms about it.

I just toured ASU with my grandson who will be attending in the fall of 2011. They are being call the new American university and I must say I was impressed. You might be able to find financial aid through the university for your course.
