Q-Pulse Software - Does anyone out there use it?

R

Raech19

Hi,

in reply to my last thread where I was asked to be more specific. One of the main factors is that after writing/updating all our cmpany procedures and ISO documentation, we have decided to start using Q-Pulse software.

Does anyone out there use it? and how did you incorporate it into your procedures etc?

Many Thanks
Raechel

Re: Q-Pulse Software

Hi Raechel and welcome to the Cove!

Take a look at this thread for starters

Has anyone used Q-Pulse QA Software by Gael Quality?

And if you scroll down to the bottom of the page you will find links to similar threads.

Most of us who have been doing this for years are adverse to what we call "canned" packages. Most are written very broad - which can be helpful in understanding the requirements - but not really effective in implementing a robust system. Your QMS must be tailored to your company.

The standard doesn't tell you how - just what is required. An effective system is written around how you run your business.

Hope this helps a bit.

Although it is always good to search the Cove, many of these packages change enough that early Cove musings may be outdated.

And, even though some folks prefer to be programmers rather than quality managers, IMHO I find a good package to be a better investment in time. It will include the flexibility to meet each organizations needs - as long as the needs are not shortcuts and circumventions to an effective system. Why should anyone accommodate that?

I used V4 extensivly, the company had implemented just as I joined.
It would not have been my choice but I found it useful and in the end it bacame my baby 'so to speak'

It depeneds alot on the training you have been given and how well you understanding the interactions of each part of the package. An auditor will understand how competant you are at using the package and from that judge how well or how poor your control over the QMS is.

Personly I now run everything via access, doc control, customer concerns, training, equipment & calibration.

Hi
Yes we had it installed about four years ago. I found it to be too cumbersome and not specific enough.

We have since stopped using it. I wouldn't recommend it really, prefer to run with excel spreadsheets etc.

I'm a Q-Pulse user and simply couldn't function without it. Admittedly version 4 took a bit of getting used to, but with the new generation, a completely new-build version 5 which is far more intuitive and word based.
I'm in the UK health service and the vast majority of laboratories who are using a commercial software system are using Q-Pulse. This serves us rather well with fully integrated modules for document control, incident recording, noncompliance tracking (CA/PA), audit scheduling, suppliers, training, analysis etc.
Training as with any software takes a bit of time and commitment but with on and off-site training sessions allied to Gael's recently introduced eAcademy and webex sessions it is a complete package which is fit for purpose. Proof of the pudding is that our assessment bodies (CPA-UK Ltd and UKAS) have been impressed with it ........... but even better our staff are using it and like it!

Yes, we have been using it for 2 years now. We are in the manufacturing business. Prior to us purchasing Q-Pulse5, we were using a manual system; word, excel, outlook and a database program all hidden from other users.

Since we have been using Q-Pulse5, others may few audits, audit findings, corrective actions, customer complaints, product complaints, etc... Folks throughout the organisation may issue non-conformances from Q-Pulse5 and respond via this system.

The work module is very helpful to check to see what you have due or past due.

I would recommend this program to anyone.

Note: Before purchasing Q-Pulse5, I had looked at many other software systems. Q-Pulse5 is the best bang for the bucks. :D

Gael Community - Q-Pulse Forums

As an FYI - Brendan_C (who works for Q-Pulse) and I have had several email exchanges. Because this thread is about Q-Pulse, per the The Elsmar Cove Forum TOS, his feedback is allowed and appreciated.

Originally I was asked if I would allow a link to their forum here so that people who want/need help now where to go. I declined because it was closed to anyone who wasn't registered. Q-Pulse responded by opening up appropriate sections of their forum to the public at large as 'Read Only' without the need to register. That is the same model here.

The benefit is mainly derived by our development team who get great feedback and improvement suggestions which we use to take Q-Pulse forward.
- Which is part of a business model I very much approve of.

You can take advantage of their forums to ask questions here: Gael Community.

I must say, I have ran both V4 and V5 and I'm not that happy with it. V4 was very restirctive and V5 is MUCH MUCH better, but there is a massive difference between what they say it can do and what actually happens!

So far I have found that the support is non-existant and they will say anything to get you off their backs!

The software is OK but I would not recomend it too anybody unless the already have V4!

HI Guys

Just starting research on this system and looks good, but getting mixed reviews.

Starting to Implement an ISO 9001 system in a co with <20 employees where quality is being recorded, but not in an ISO recognized fashion.

Cost:
Can any one give me ideas of Seat Costs at the moment?

Tech Support:
Is this value for money and what are the turn around times for logging a prob/query and getting a reply and solution?

Cheers
