Hello,

I am in the process of developing a customer property/intellectual property checklist for a design & testing facility and was wondering if anyone already has a template or sample questions to ask. Any help would be appreciate.

Thank you!

Re: Customer Property Checklist

Welcome to the Cove.

The requirement is to identify, verify, protect and safeguard. If you verified that it had been received in good condition, had a listing (include where you stored it if you want) and take actions to ensure that they are properly stored and protected, you've met the requirements. Also note the provision for actions needed if there are subsequent damage, loss, etc, etc.

If you have the process of signing off a confidentiality agreement with your customer then all that you receive from the customer which is his technical matters, writeups, any other type of design inputs and such other that you cover under the agreement is to be listed as your customer property. Surely any tangible stuff like testers, jigs and fixtures, other parts supplied gets into the checklist.

Re: Customer Property Checklist

Describe the process used to identify, verify, protect and safeguard customer property. You may be able to keep this procedure simple by using identification, traceability and handling processes. You will also include a process for reporting any loss or damage to the customer.

LaJWa,
What kind of 'stuff' do you actually get from your customers (physical/electronic/information - if so, what kind)?
