Recommendation of Supplier Program type Training

Hi Covers,
I'd like to do some training this year and was hoping you could tell me which ones you feel helped you the most - I am a Quality Specialist working for a company that sells Medical Products (masks, gloves etc). I'm already a lead Auditor for 13485 but was hoping for suggestions on the best Supplier program type training? Needs to stay in Canada or the USA.

When you are suggesting something, please tell me why you feel it helped you in your day to day activities.:thanx:

Thanks!

If you are already a Lead Auditor, using that experience and apply it to Supplier Quality shouldn't be a big change. The difference is working directly with the Supplier base and your Organization's Purchasing Group. Working more as a mentor with the supplier base, improving processes, delivery, and quality and monitoring those processes.

Think of the Supplier as the expert in what product or service they provide for the organization. The organization is purchasing this service or product because the Supplier is the expert.

As for specific training...I really can't say what would help. Just a good knowledge of the product or services provided and experience would be the best training you could acquire.

I would check the internet for possible training available.

I have been a Supplier Quality Engineer for a few years in my professional life.

But, this is just an opinion.

American Society for Quality (ASQ) offers a few courses in Supplier Quality. You may want to look into it in your area. I attended one of them 3 years ago in California when I was still fairly new in supplier quality. It was helpful on a very basic level. For more than "basic", consider one of the more advanced courses they might offer, as they've since added a couple more to their offerings.

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure I understand this question. Can you please give examples? Thanks :)
Looking to attend a course that might help in setting up an effective supplier program, maintaining it and auditing Outsourced Manufacturer's and Raw Material Suppliers.
