Re: Dream Log - Occasionally I have some interesting Dreams

I didnít realise that people dreamed so frequently and so vividly.

Oddly I donít dream, well at least I donít remember any of them when I wake.

There are rare occasions where I retain some details however this is very rare, maybe one or twice a year.

Am I odd?

(I mean for not retaining memory of my dreams, not as a person. I know Iím an odd person :-)

From one other input...you're not odd...unless I am too.

I know I dream, and I'll occasionally remember context immediately upon waking...but it evaporates within minutes or seconds no matter how hard I try to hold on to the memory of it.

My wife has an extensive and wonderful 'dream life', and remembers her dreams extensively. In some ways I'm jealous of it. She spends quality time with friends and family who have passed that I never get to do.

Look! Re: Dream Log - Occasionally I have some interesting Dreams

I learned recently that failure to remember your dreams is actually a sign that you are getting good (effective) sleep. When you do remember your dreams, it means that you are on the borderline between sleep and wakening, which is less effective.

There is an interesting article based on the data collected by Fitbit. I wonder how well Fitbit wearers represent the rest of the population.

That makes sense, my sleep is not very reliable.

Many years ago my youngest teenage sister asked if she could hold a keg party at the house - my mom agreed but only if I supervised.

My mom spent the night elsewhere, and we put all the antiques and breakables in closets and covered every surface in the house with newspaper. In the morning I just rolled it all up and threw it out.

No, that's not the dream - recently I dreamed my sister and I were planning the forty year anniversary of that party, and we were discussing how to handle minors - handstamps or wristbands.

I can believe it. For years I never remembered dreaming. I do notice it these days now and again, and it is usually after a "nap". I definitely don't sleep as well these days as I did years ago.
