I'm trying to understand a suffix on a 1010 steel. This steel is 1010AK2. I know that AK stands for aluminum killed which is the deoxidation method, but I don't know what the 2 means. Any help?
This may refer to the temper, which ranges from 1 (full hard) to 5 (dead soft). A #2 temper is half hard and runs from Rockwell B70 to B85 in hardness.
