Software/Tools to Manage ISO 12207 Audit of Software Development Process

Q

qawarrior60

I'm new to the QA organization where I work. I'm participating in an internal audit of the software development process (following ISO 12207 Section 5.3). I'm looking for software/tools and/or detailed checklists of areas that are going to be audited.

There aren't a lot of software people who visit here regularly. If no one replies in a day or 2 bump the thread and see what happens.

Software development processes in most companies are highly specific.
In my experiance its better to customize checklists or forms based on
the guidelines of the standard.
A usually proceed in this manner (usually on a spreadsheet)-
1) Create a list containing mandatory reqts.
2) Match the actual process activities to the reqts.
3) Map other related processes/activities that may interact with the S/W cycle - viz., purchase, HR etc..

Hope this helps.

Howdy!

Probably too late for you, qawarrior60. Also, not free. But maybe someone else down the road could use this. I may be taking on a software development QA project (which is new to me) so I've been poking around the net quite a bit lately and found 12207.com. Under the 'Standard Checklists' tab, they sell a document that gives examples of what to look for. You can see a sample there (that actually includes part of 5.3).
