Software Quality Audit - Internal Audit Checklists

Hi Everyone,

I am a New User and found this forum containsing really helpful information. Let me introduce myself. I am a Testing Manager in a Software Solutions company and recently received the additional responsibility of QA activities. We are currently doing a large project and in the requirements phase. I have already come up with a Quality plan and now in the process of planning my Quality Audit procedure.
I need help in getting information on the Internal Audit Checklists - which I can use in Process Audits, Deliverables audit and also in Stage/Gate reviews.
Is there already established set of Audit checklists which I can refer and modify according to my company's need?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your audit checklist should be based on the process/plan that you follow.
For me there are two main threads to audit: Requirements traceability and Evidience traceability.
Evidence traceability is that you check that all process reciepts are created, are appropriate approved and are linked together for the project/releases/etc.
Requirements traceability is that you can trace from requirements to design to code to product build to verification of requirements, and that the build verified is build with all the changes in it.

Thanks for your response. I understand your point, but it would have helped referencing some actual Audit checklist, to see actual checkpoints and questions that might be relevant to a process or deliverable/documentation audit. I am looking for actual audit checklist forms in order to audit the following:
1. Requirement Gathering process
2. Requirement Document
3. Design and Architectural standards
4. Quality Management Plan
5. Risk Management plan

These are just a few points. I intend to use the checklist on our internal reviews to check our system against some standard procedures and checklists being followed.

World: Your pdf search definitely was helpful in getting some guidelines. Thanks to you. But I am still in lookout for actual audit checklists - specifically intended for SDLC.

I would recommend you NASA's Software Quality Assurance Audits Guidebook that you can find in the NASA's Software Assurance Technology Center main webpage.

In appendix B you would see SQA AUDIT CHECKLIST QUESTIONS.
