Good Afternoon Covers
My company makes office furniture and we are trying to expand to South America Market.
One of the first questions of a possible customer was: ?Do you have LEED certification??
Can the products that we made be LEED certified? Or the customer must have products that fulfill the LEED requirements regarding the ?MATERIALS AND RESOURCES? credits?

Thank you for your help and suggestions,
Best Regards,

Buildings have the certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). The products that go into them may contribute but it is based on the entire building project costs. Please keep in mind that the standard is changing in June and there are many changes but as a furniture manufacturer you product may contribute in the following areas under Materials and Resources:

Recycled Content
Regional Materials
Rapidly Renewable Materials
Certified Wood

Before you waste a lot of time, make sure the A&D is going to include furniture. Most do not include it depending on the specific LEED standard the building is being certified against.
