do you have any time series data showing how A and B vary over a long enough period of time to show the full range of actual variation?

Checking in from another universe...regulatory approval of medical devices, and this one resonates with me. I always have people coming to me saying "we have to do a clinical trial to show our device is safe and effective," and I always answer, "No...you need to do a clinical trial to FIND OUT IF it is safe and effective."

Julie, I can play devils advocate and say you do a clinical trial to find out if your device is NOT safe and/or effective. But I agree in principle with your statement.
