Siemens Standard, SN29500, Reliability and quality specification failure rates of components, Siemens Standard, 1986.

Hi All,
What is the difference between MTBF calculation using MIL Hdbk and SN29500?
I guess the parameters used in both prediction methods are same.
Is it possible to convert the MTBF values calculated using the MIL Hdbk to SN29500 standard?
Waiting to hear from u...............
Please help me as this is quite urgent...................:(

Is there any particular reason why you must have or use Siemens SN 29500 standard?

Siemens moved out of the semiconductor business some ten years back and the remaining business is now handled by Infineon. Websites that used to host this standard are no more, leading one to draw the conclusion that this standard is not supported any more.

In an earlier thread on MTBF that you started, our fellow Cover 'Willy' had given you good advice - that Mil-Std is a bit conservative (pessimistic) for commercial purpose and Bellcore/Telcordia (SR 332) is the preferred choice.
