CQI-9 monitoring of temperature in die

I’m working on a CQI-9 action plan, we have a continuous furnace with dry contact press hardening of metal parts. For the question Monitor Part Temperature In Die it suggests infrared thermo camera or other non contact pyrometers. I want to use an off the shelf laser infra red thermometer with a strip chart but I don’t have any idea on spec or other requirements. Has anyone got any experience or advice?

Thanks

I am out of date on the latest products, but I suggest investigating Fluke and Omega. You probably want a fixed mount IR thermometer with bluetooth (or similar) connectivity. Strip charts are really "old school". Current technology would use mobile devices to display the charts.

Tha am for the response, I was thinking strip computerised strip charts, and the use of devices you’ve suggested. We’ve had a few CQI-9 quotes from equipment provides who integrate into the system but they are between £30k to £100k. Our process engineers want to spend this kind of money but I think we can do it more like £5k
