Actually, I had read a reply from the IATF to a CB question to clarify even more the SI & FAQ related to the 4.4.1.2 clause where they state that this clause is not only linked to Safety & Regulation Characteristics but has a broader scope that includes other characteristics that can have a harmful effect on passengers, passer-bys .. without being identified as "S" on the customer drawing. And they mention as an example the requirement of VW CSR to have a PSB as an extra requirement to the 4.4.1.2 clause.
