Two closely aligned techniques which complement one another and are often implemented together.
- To show the importance of simple waste elimination tools
- To show the significance of eliminating anything not required
- To support the facility with easily understood “signals” that provide instruction
- To learn how signals can indicate if a normal or abnormal condition exists in a process.
Workplace Organization and Visual Controls are concepts that, while seemingly very basic, can result in accomplishing dramatic visual changes to the worksite.
Workers in the worksite area are made able to see change, feel and acknowledge the improvements in safety, and correlate the differences with the workshop activity.
This obvious demonstration of waste elimination can be very beneficial in generating support for the process going forward.
