Jackson,

I do not know if simulation questions and training excercises are (publicly) available for the ISO/TS 16949:2002 CB auditor exams. I went through the ISO/TS Supplier Auditor certification exams (certification and recertification), but other than the training manuals provided by the AIAG (Plexus) trainers, there was nothing else.

Best thing I can recommend to you is to know and understand the ISO/TS standard, including the SI's and FAQ's. Next the "Rules", including the FAQ's. Also, be familiar and know to use the AIAG Core Tools manuals.

Any of my Fellow Covers want to add to this?

Good Luck!

Stijloor.

Re: TS Auditor Re-certification Exam - Simulation test paper or questions pool needed

In a former existence as a 3rd party QS/TS auditor, every time any colleagues or I went on a requalification course we got together immediately afterwards to compile a list of all the exam questions we could remember. This allowed our employer to compile mock exam papers as part of the training/preparation of future candidates.

Of course the examiners have plenty of alternate questions so we couldn't hope to provide all the answers in advance but it gave people an idea of what they were going to face and an indication of preparedness.

There's no substitute for doing your homework as Stijloor suggests but, if you know any 3rd party TS auditors, there's no harm in asking if they've got some material they might be able to share.

Absolutely agree. I have been through the various QS and TS 3rd party testings at AIAG a number of times. (I am happy to say, I passed each time).

I found reading and knowing the material in the books was far more beneficial than any effort to compile questions. They follow a holistic process approach in the tests, and just knowing questions is of little use. Further, you don't know whether the "answers" to the compiled questions are even correct in some cases.

They also ask questions that have a lot of grey areas, because they want to see how you process and evaluate information. There is not always a single correct answer.

There is abook they published a couple years ago - available only to CB's - entitled Competency Criteria for CB Auditors, or something like that. That was a lot of problem areas known to the AB's. That book would be well worth reading.

Read! Even if you think you know the material. And watch your time management.

Good Luck!

The "grey areas" I refer to are the sample problems. They make confusing situations, with many audit trails, and much detail. Some is significant, some is not. Some issues are small nonconformities, and some are significant. They want to evaluate how you think about these sample problems. Do you spend the whole time looking at small insignificant problems, or do you see the big picture. How do you manage your audit time.

In this scenario, there is not one correct answer, there can be several good answers. That is what I mean when I say "grey." Not clear, black and white, but grey.

If you pass depends on how well you manage your time, and whether you can see the important issues in the grey smoke. And that is good, because real audit situations are like that too.

Congratulations on passing the recertification! I've been through it and I know it's grueling. I suspect they'll be changing their methods again before we have to recertify again (just to make life interesting for us).

I am a newbie but I would love to check out the material. I am going to training for exemplar global lead audit training 2nd try and I missed the exam by 4 points smh... I did not use my time wisely and focused on the small things without looking at the big picture. Everyone your advice has been very helpful to me.. I will head out to AIAG in Nov. until then I will have to get to know the material up close and personal
