Dear all ,
We had an audit of customer , he asked us about the acceptance criteria for gauges which we are using . we show him our acceptance criteria but he refused and asked from where you have taken this criteria from which standard like ISO, ASTM,IS. etc. I have search and found an Indian Standard for Maximum possible error in gauge We can take maximum possible error as a our acceptance criteria or not. of we have take from Standard .

waiting for your reply .

What do you mean by "acceptance criteria for gauges..."? The standard you posted is for vernier calipers. Are you actually using vernier calipers, as opposed to dial or digital calipers?

Sachin, you can define acceptance criteria for gages you are using referring to standards as mentioned in the standards on calibration report of the gage. You can talk to the calibration agency in case of any doubts. Additionally, you can define it based on the accuracy required (based on the requirement of your organization).

Enclosed herewith an example of acceptance criteria.

You have to determine the acceptance criteria based on specifications and risk. No one can do that for you.
