Quality and Safety in one.

Hello! I have a question, please.

In my company, the Quality and Safety departments are separated.

It is ok that these departments are separated or should be merged.

Waiting for your kind advice.

Thank you in advance.

This is a really open question. It depends very much on the company and the roles of each department. E.g. if the safety department are particularly technical, it can make sense to keep them separate.

However, for me it doesn’t really matter. Even if two “separate” teams, there’s nothing to stop them working together on key areas while still maintaining their focus. In the end it depends what’s best for the business.

IMO, they should be separate. (but as above, could partner on some things) - but unless you are a very tiny company, expecting people to handle Safety and Quality items (as related to ISO) would be a huge scope.

Whatever works for your company's structure and culture. There is nothing inherently bad about them being joined or separate.

Which terms of Safety either it is Product Safety or its is related to Human Safety /Compliance. If it is Product Safety then it should be merge either case it should be separate in my opinion.

Certainly the OP was referring to Occupational Health & Safety. Product safety is a misnomer used in aerospace when they really mean product integrity, what is, as you mentioned, the realm of quality management.
