Sunrise at the Atlantic shore circa 1984

I think this is from a series that I picked out at some time as a 'good' picture. Now and again when I was traveling I'd get up and go some place (here it was the east coast), set up a tripod and take a picture every minute or two right at sunrise, or do it at sunset. Which is in part why I have so many pictures in boxes. Back in the late 1960's and early 1970's I was into 8mm film and got into time lapses. I have a good one from Sanibel Island from a trip some of my friends and I took there in about 1972. Back in those days you could camp up on Bowman's Beach (this was before Sanibel became popular - It's a build up piece of garbage these days with cops everywhere). I've got all my old 8mm films transferred to VHS tape (did that in 1996) but never have gotten around to converting them to computer data files. (Notice I'm threatening to start 'sharing' my home movies...).

Actually, a couple years or more ago I pulled out a bunch of photos and started scanning some here and there. I guess its one of those things where now and again nostalgia strikes. Now that this 'album' feature is in vBulletin, and seeing that some people were using it, I ended up dragging out a few shoe boxes and going through them. I scanned a few last Sunday and I'm staring a 2 shoe boxes (out of 8 or so, not to mention the folders). I figure I'll pull a few out now and again, scan them and post them. It's kinda weird though in these days of digital photography. I have standard paper prints from a couple of different cameras, I have Polaroid pictures from 3 or 4 different Polaroid cameras (most of them the dyes have stood up pretty well, but they've been kept boxed in a closet {decent temp and humidity control}).

Well, on with the show. I just found a 'Road Signs' picture I'm going to scan...
