MIL-STD-105E vs MIL-STD-1916 - Is 1916 the same as C=0?

I will appreciate if anybody could help with the differences between this 2, and when should one be used instead of the other.

Also is 1916 tha same as C=0?

Just an out of the blue question. I'm not sure this is the proper place to post but here goes. I've seen several references to this standard in the Cove. Other than by contract requirements, why would anyone use a sampling plan that cancelled in 02/1995 with no replacement? The NOC even references ANSI 1.4 as a possible replacemnt....just gee whiz information for myself.
Thanks to all inputs to so many Covers, I have found this site a world of valuable information.

My guess: 105 and Z1.4 are in many ways identical. If 105 works for you there's no reason not to use it just because it is "obsolete". My truck is technically "obsolete" but it does the job for me quite well. Newer isn't necessarily better. JMO. :bigwave:
