CND nomenclature for single use instruments

Hi all,

As a manufacturer of single use instruments (sterile & non-sterile, class 1 + 2II) we would like to transfer our products from UMDNS codes into CND codes (Italian Device Classification).

Within the CND code list I found a complete overview of reusable surigcal instruments, but what about single-use instruments? Why are these not mentioned here?

I hope anyone can support, probably perhaps there are more companies dealing with the same issue?

Hi!
Did you check the list on italian MoH site? (salute.gov.it/imgs/C_17_pagineAree_328_listaFile_itemName_15_file.pdf is the list)
Which instruments are you talking about?
Disposable surgical instruments are found within the various categories, they do not have their own category (in other case the single use category should be too big!), unlike reusable instruments, which have their own category (category L).
For example: CND V0101=SCALPELS, SINGLE-USE but L010101=ONE-PIECE SCALPELS (reusable category)

I hope I helped you!
