Training Effectiveness

Welcome to the Cove!

There are many ways to determine training effectiveness.

For some training activities, a test can pe performed to determine if the training was effective.

Some companies have training logs and the supervisor or manager will initial and date the log to indicate that the training was effective.

Some companies will discuss training effectiveness at the management review.

For your supervisor and Manager, have you defined what they are or will be trained on? Part of the training will be measurable, which is the easy part. So, I imagine you are asking about the tasks and activities that do not have a concise measure trait to it. Something like being trained on interpersonal skills. The effectiveness could be that the supervisor did not throw any chairs at anyone today (comment on another thread).

A matrix may help in the auditing of the effectiveness. You will have to validate the trainer. I concur with the report structure from the previous post as well as to testing the measurable.

Sorry, I lost my train of thought..... I have to go deal with someone who really is throw stuff at people :frust:

Thanks Danny for your help and the welcome. We use tests, log/records, as well as a quarterly performance evaluation for our production personnel. I am seeking an evaluation tool for the training of our supervisors and managers. Presently their training is simply reviewing applicable SOPs and a sign off sheet. Any more ideas? Thanks again.

Thanks very much for the attachments, Marc. I think the 4 level/matrix is a useful training evaluation form. Thanks again.
