6 Requirements for an ISO 9001:2015 Transition Audit

I remember seeing on here a post regarding the 6 things they would look at during the transition audit to 9001:2015. I can't for the life of me find it!

I remember a few....

completed internal audit
complete management review


And that's all I got. A little help please? My audit is now 3 weeks away! EEK.

"they" is going to be specific to YOUR register. Any visit is going to look at MR and IA. The obvious things are context, risk, interested parties, internal/external issues.

Nope. The organization's leadership were so dismayed by the useless auditor and his rubbish checklist of stuff beyond "ISO", they pulled out of being certified...

Along with the regular items like doc control and MR, IA, NC control etc. The auditor should be looking to verify that the 'new' elements have been addressed e.g.

How is risk being managed?
How is leadership demonstrated?
Have the context of the organisation and the needs of interested parties been determined?
Is there a plan to achieve the quality objectives?
Have the expected outputs from processes been defined and are they monitored?
Are all personnel aware of their role in helping to achieve quality?

This is not a comprehensive list but it should get you somewhere near.

Did your CB give you a transition guide? Most CB have information about how they will conduct the transition.

Other things come to mind:

- have your procedures / forms been updated?
- have your internal auditors been trained to the new standard?
- then think context, internal / external issues, identified risk and opportunities.

Also I would review your existing quality manual and decide what can be removed.

Yes we have completed the upgrade. Followed the moderators advices.

Yes, we did get a transition guide. It doesn't include things like making sure you have a complete internal audit, as in the entire system. Not just are they current. The guide was pretty detailed and it was actually helpful.

Also, for the quality manual. I would not remove anything because they will audit to BOTH standards during the transition audit. Unless you are transitioning during the 3 yr recert audit. You have to be compliant to both standards at once. I added the 2015 things to the manual, like interested parties and risks and such. Over time I will dissolve the manual entirely.

Yes, we did get a transition guide. It doesn't include things like making sure you have a complete internal audit, as in the entire system...

Remember that a "transition" guide will "assume" that basic aspects such as internal audits and such are already understood and will thus tend to focus on new aspects.
