Hi everybody,
would you like to share your thoughts, experiences and interpretation how to meet clause 7.3.2 of IATF concerning with motivation and empowerment?
How can be designed a documented process to motivate all employees to reach quality objectives and all the other items referred in the clause ( awareness of the impact of quality, continual improvement, promotion of the awareness of quality and technology across all organization) ?
Is " documented" indented with a procedure or process map or are records enough? Shall this documented process characterized by KPI?

This is quite easy. There are many things an organization can do:
  • Bonuses, recognitions
  • Communications on quality, improvement, etc
  • Support for patents, projects, etc.
  • Employee participation in quality
You should capture how/what you do.

Not sure what you mean on the KPI question? But if you mean creating a KPI, then NO - this is not about a KPI for these items. These should be part of your quality culture. They can and should evolve and iterate. Now KPIs can be part of the "motivation" component - example, "if the team hits > 95% velocity in Q3, they receive a bonus of $50 per team member".

We have an employee recognition system. All people leaders are required to submit 2 hourly and 2 salary per month. That is difficult for some people to obtain actually, it is discussed in our monthly meetings. This helps empower employees.

Thank you.
Reading the requirement, it is mentioned "documented process". Does it means that that it is needed a procedure, or process mapping with KPI set? Generally speaking , documented process shoud be supported by KPI or not?

I do not know if this is enough according to all requirement of 7.3.2 iatf clause, it seems partial . do you have a documented process for this item?

I wondering if this has been discussed before. It’s been in the automotive requirements for some time, hasn’t it?
How did you meet this clause in your QMS? Do you have a documented process as requested or procedure for that process? Do you measure it?

"documented process" does not always mean you create a standalone procedure for the clause. Your organization/company should already have something documented how they do bonuses, or recognitions or such. It may be in one place or multiple places.

No - it does NOT need to be supported by a KPI. A requirement can be digital: Yes we have it, No we don't have it. If what you have DOES NOT work, then your employees and your audits or other should identify that and look to improve.

Yes, thank you.
Considet that QMS team also supports the organization in the processes , risk analysis , training and procedures designing and implementation in order to meet IATF requirement and then audit on the implementation during internal audits. Clearly there are also thirdy party audit to check this.
