7.4.1.2 Supplier quality management system development

Hi! Everybody.

I was just wandering around the site, and I saw that distributors are not to be cetified in TS-2 is this true?

I´m not a distributor but some of my suppliers are and I´m contacting all suppliers to ask them to be certified in TS-2, because of therequirement 7.4.1.2

Does anybody knoe if this is true?

Distributors cannot be registered to 16949. There must be some kind of value added changes made to the part. The only companies that would qualify would be part manufacturers and some services such as heat treat, plating, etc.

Will ISO 9000:2000 be enough to satisfy de requirement? or is it in function of what my clients say?

Supplier development is to be done with the goal of conformity to TS 16949 (not certification). ISO 9001:2000 certification is specifically required. In other words, ISO 9001:2000 satisfies the requirement.
