I don't see copyright or other issues. It's a general list.

Thanks!

I know this is an old thread, but thats the beauty of a forum, its like being in a room full of people and being able to listen in or move on in an almost timeless way.

I took a look at a couple of the links to Lexicons and such, one thing they don't have is something I would like ppl to help me on for the wiki, an that is:

Definitions of:

1. Technical File

2. Technical Documents

3. Quality Manual

These kinds of information could be something that other places don't have. I could be wrong here (more than likely) :)

These can be different in different companies.

A quality manual is much discussed herein. It is essentially a document which describes a businesses quality systems and policies.

A technical file is typically a file, such as in a file cabinet or computer directory, where project paperwork is kept. This is often 'kept' my the project engineer but every company has it's own 'system' so.

Technical documents are things like prints (drawings), specifications, etc. for a product / project.

Definitions

From the Medical Devices angle I think there are more specific definitions, in terms of whats in it and what its supposed to do. Hmmm... it means different things to different people? Blurring of definitions?

Technical Documents (documentation) - all types of documented technical information, including declarations of conformity, other types of declarations, design dossiers, quality system documentation etc.

Technical File - refers to subsets of the above, for the specific purpose of demonstrating conformity. But some authorities uses both terms interchangeably :(

Quality Manual - a subset of the Technical Documentation addressing.... (as previous post).

Yes - Not only are there often differences from company to company, there definitely are differences between 'sectors' (different 'industries' if you will).

But - even the word 'quality' is widely interpreted - See Quality - What is your Definition?
