Re: Action on clause no 4.1, 4.2 and 6.1

I love compound questions (not really).

One method to demonstrate 4.1 and 4.2 could be a business plan. It looks like TC 176 pulled an old dusty management 101 textbook off the shelf and turned to the chapter on writing a business plan. Actually the progression of 4.1 through 4.4 could have come from this.

So if your organization is into business plans that could be used to demonstrate 4.1 and 4.2.

Also on 4.1 and 4.2 evidence of paying attention to your strategic direction can be from how you respond to the management review about internal and external changes that could effect the quality management system (9.3.2b).

As for 6.1, there are many places in the standard where risk identification and mitigation can come into play. One of the more common ones would be at contract review where risk is identified and the resulting mitigation activities in traveler generation and purchasing.

Risk identification is not for only contract review process but for all processes.

I think that is what I said. Contract review being perhaps the most common or frequent.

Every quarter the CEO has a meeting to review the progress of the business plan. Can this be considered as Management Review? Thank you.

I think the meeting can be considered a management review, but only if you follow the actual plan for a management review meeting (making sure you discuss all the things in the standard that ISO requires you to discuss). There's probably a framework out there from one of the free ISO 9001 paperwork sources.

Think about what a powerful tool management review can be if approached properly. Think in terms of the inputs to discussion are for the purpose of determining how well you are meeting the business plan. Sort of "where are we". This part is done to raise the awareness of the group collectively about where the company stands on their strategic direction.

Only after that can you move to the next part of "where do we want to go from here", or what do we need to do to maintain our strategic direction.

That sure sounds like business management planning to me.
