I just had a consultation with the auditor with regards to our readiness review and he was quite pleased with the way we have adapted the standard to suit our company needs. We are a small company (85 employees) and do not have money to throw at processes and employees. We were quite worried that we would fall short of the standard but the auditor said that in todays environment auditors should be expected to take into consideration the company's size and objectives when it comes to acquiring ts certification. Having partaked in audits for a larger organisation it is encouraging to find an auditor with common sense.

Has any one else experienced a similiar situation.

If the auditor is happy, you should be as well.

Whether QS-9000, ISO 9001 or TS 16949, it has ALWAYS been the case that an auditor should take into consideration the size of the company, the complexity of the processes as well as other company specific aspects.

Yes! Congratulations on hiring a sensible auditor.

:topic: How did this post fly under my radar for two weeks? I love positive stories about dealing with auditors, customers, regulators, etc. It is a welcome surcease from a steady diet of hearing about bullies beating up on suppliers and auditees.

We have 65 employees and just completed our pre assessment on Tuesday with the same comments and observations. We are on schedule to be registered this fall. This would complete this project in 8 months, something that wouldn't be possible with a large company. Good Luck!
