Can you compare processes between the two Suppliers?

One could be die cutting on a Rotary Fabricator, the other on a Punch Press. That would also determine what kind of tooling is being used to cut the parts.

Are both adding a secondary liner to the 3M product? Is that different? Just my

I am for certain that the process is not same.

I don't know the circumstances or what your requirements were when the part was set up with your secondary supplier in regards of what level PPAP was asked of them or it was waived. But if you have a Control Plan handy that may be able to tell you what process they are using.

I was reading through the forum response for adhesive seepage, here are few things I learnt when I used to work for Medical Tape/ Adhesive manufacturer.

We had a similar issue with adhesive oozing (seepage) which was seasonal because the manufacturing plant environmental condition was different form the storage and also the transportation conditions. It could also be the die cut and coating method which needs to be reviewed by comparing the two supplier manufacturing method and conditions.

I do know some suppliers use Cornstarch to prevent the sides from sticking to each other, it can be ok for industrial tapes but not for Medical tapes.

If this event is for a particular batch then the Adhesive batch record ( Cof C's)/ mixing time( if applicable), Liner- Substrate ( C of C's) chemistry, machine parameter conditions in the manufacturing batch record is worth reviewing.
