Advice/recommendations for equipment to measure a soft pvc tube - Optical Measuring?

Hi guys
Looking for some advice/recommendations for equipment to measure a soft pvc tube, micrometers/callipers are out of the question, i was thinking some sort of laser or optical system.

How 'soft' (I am presuming you mean easily deformed, rather than low hardness) is the tube? How big is the diameter, and what kind of tolerance are you trying to hold?

Yes, lasers or optical systems can do the job, but there are other options out there as well, depending on the specific application.

It depends - what are the characteristics you need to measure? OD, ID Wall, Roundness, etc

Would have been helpful!
The tube is 11 mm o/d with a 2 mm wall, general tolerance of +/-0.15 mm.
It is PVC medical tube, so its more "flexible" than "soft"

Some medical device manufacturers I have worked with use pin / plug gauges for this job.
