Some potential customers have asked if our products are AEC-Q200 qualified. Even though the company is ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 certified, no current customer had requested this qualification yet; we normally run tests specific to each customer when requested.
I downloaded AEC-Q200 Rev D and from what I read, there are several times when validity for a test method or acceptance criteria must have approval from the user.
- Is it OK to run the tests under our best understanding and claim we are "qualified"?
- If yes, would I need to run all tests in an external certified lab. or could I use some of the family generic data we already have and/or make some of the tests in house (with calibrated test equipment, etc)?
Thank you very much for your help!
