Hi,

I do not know anything about AS9100 beyond the basics, but I am trying to understand which version is in force and how often it is changed. From what I can gather, the last major update was 2008, is that correct?

If anyone can point me to the current industry standard it would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to build a checklist for my users but am having difficulty figuring out which version to use.

Both AS9100B and AS9100C are "current". We are in a transition between the two. B is on it's way out, and will go away July 1st 2012. As of July 1st 2011, there will be no more audits to AS9100B.

AS9101 is the standard that governs auditing to AS9100. The version for AS9100C is AS9101D. AS9191D includes an "Objective Evidence Record" which pretty much serves the same purpose as a checklist. You should be able to use it as a checklist or to develop a set of checklists (one for each of your processes perhaps).

Thanks, I will take a look. If you know where I can get a good checklist based on AS9101D it is greatly appreciated - I have seen a number of drafts floating around the cove, but nothing final.

It is copywrited material. You need to buy a copy of AS9101D.

Sidney, As a true believer of the advantages of the AS9100-Series and the AS9101;2010, I thank you for posting your information. I am very happy to see your notes and explanations. They help me a lot.
I am teaching AS9100:2009, AS9110, Rev A, and AS9120, Rev A with the AS9101:2010. I have taught many large and small companies the Process approach and help them in understanding the Standards and the Process auditing. Very successful. Thank you.
