Hello, all! I've recently taken a full time position with a startup 'automotive adjacent' battery supplier after 12 years as a contract QA / Lean / ME consultant. Things have been interesting because of the immaturity of the organization. One thing that has me completely baffled is Core Tools here. They have completed (and approved) control plans. They do not, however, have process flow charts or PFMEA's... I think we all know the proper order of operations with this. I've never run into a situation where a company openly does these out of order! During a recent ISO9001 audit, I wrote a finding that they were not using the tools as they are intended and I've gotten a TON of push back.
What I'm looking for is some opinion regarding whether this is remotely 'legal', or not. They passed their last audit with NO FINDINGS (which makes me want to change registrars immediately), and apparently, the auditor was aware of this.
I have my opinion, and I'm pretty sure it's backed up by documentation....
Any input is welcome. Thank you!
Erich
