AIAG Labeling System

Our automotive customer has requested that we start using the AIAG Labeling System. Does anyone have any tips for getting started? Are there any preferences for software, printers and scanners? Is there more than one AIAG label standard?

Since we only have one automotive customer we'd like to keep this system as inexpensive as possible but still be able to expand the system if necessary. Possibly down the road we'd barcode additional non-automotive inventory items.
