Airborne Particle Counter Calibration - 5 microns particles aerosol

Searching for info in the web, we have found (and tested) that when you use latex particles and a glass-made aerosol generator, the electrostatic charge make the particles to attach to the glass surface. Using a copper-made generator we have achieved the objective. Copper does not attract the latex spheres. We obtained a very good (and pretty too) aerosol for 5 microns latex particles.

Thanks for coming back and giving us the information. I appreciate it.

Unfortunately, as you can understand, there's not always someone here who can help with some scenarios. Hopefully your information will help someone here in the future.

Hello there!:bigwave:

I am certainly not an expert or anything; but I'll give it a try.

I guess I'm trying to figure things out here. Are you suggesting that you have an aerosol generator that is supposed to emit .3?, .5?, 3? and 5? particles.

You have two calibrated particle counters (a Met One and a Climet) and neither one of them are picking up the 5? particles?

Now, is this when it is in free standing, testing the setup, or is it when you are challenging the HEPA filter?

If it is while you are challenging the filter, I would surmise the filter is removing the large particles. If it is free standing, then either there is an issue with the generator, or something is hinky with the two particle counters.

5? particles should be fairly easy to pick up, if they are present
Hello Brad,

We are in the process of rebuilding our H/R 256 calibrator. Any Idea where we can find the filters for it? Especially the high flow filter encased in the aluminum case? Thank you in advance.

Are we looking at something like suspended particles? I know someone who may be able to help. However, that person then could not join into an accreditation assessment if needed.

If you need, contact me by off-line message here.
